Harmony, San Carlos

Posted on 17 July 2008 by Vicki Moore

If you haven’t been to Harmony Frozen Yogurt in San Carlos, what are you waiting for?  After lunch today I wanted a snack.  My friend said, “We have to go to Harmony.”  Can you believe that at  $4.5-something a gallon we drove from Redwood City to San Carlos just for yogurt?!  It was worth it, especially since I drove and she paid.

<br />

The yogurt actually tasted like yogurt – not sweetened.  They had good-tasting toppings, which I could have done without – the yogurt was super refreshing.  I had strawberries and chocolate brownie-cake thing - oh, man, was it good.   The store was clean and light – real cute.

You’ve got to check it out:

Yum Yum Dim Sum

Posted on 10 January 2008 by Vicki Moore

It’s official: the Hong Kong Flower Lounge in Millbrae has changed ownership and is now the May Flower Lounge.  One thing that hasn’t changed is the food.  It’s stuff-your-belly yummy.

Weekdays there’s a traditional menu, but on the weekends, now that’s another story.  If you’re looking for dim sum, you’ve got to try it.  Be prepared to stand in line!  Holy cow.  They do a ton of business.

At Sunday brunch, the table next to us turned three times while we ordered more and more and more.   There’s valet parking across the street for $3 bucks if you can’t find street parking – and I’ll bet you can’t.

They’re too busy rolling carts to change the sign.  I’m sure they’ll get around to it.

Slow Is A Good Thing

Posted on 15 July 2007 by Vicki Moore

Mitsu has got to be the best Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food is so amazingly fresh and tasty.

The comment I always hear is how slow they are. Every time my friends and I go – like Friday night - we talk about the fact that slow is a wonderful pleasure and change of pace to our daily lives. They’re not trying to turn the table while you’re taking your last bite.

As a frequent diner, they recognize me by name, say hello and actually have a conversation.  It’s an extremely warm and welcoming place.

Take time to enjoy the music, sip tea, and try stuffing that giant California roll in your mouth!  Can’t do it, can you?
